Latest MDS recruit
Hayley Gilchrist joined RS Cockerill in late October to cover Victoria Oak’s role as fieldsperson. Her role will mainly assist the Walker’s team by store sampling and giving feedback on her findings. Hayley is in her second secondment as part of the Management Development Scheme. The scheme takes two years to complete, which includes four secondments with various roles in the fresh produce industry, whilst completing a Pgc in Food and Fresh Produce Management through Harper Adams. Her previous secondment was a role in operations and human resources. Hayley graduated in 2014 with a BA honours degree in Geography from Leeds Metropolitan University, her degree included studying modules in sustainability, global food challenges and geographies of consumption. After graduation, she found herself wanting to go back to her farming roots. Hayley began building her experience in potatoes in 2014 and is now hoping to further her knowledge and experience during the graduate scheme, which will hopefully lead her into a career in the potato industry. Hayley is looking forward to learning about store management and processing.
