A visit from the other side of the world
After looking round our trials at Stockbridge Technology Centre, a group of visiting Pepsico growers from New Zealand came back to Providence Farm to have a look at the packhouse, and understand a bit more about what we do.
We compared crisping varietal selection in our respective grower groups, and there is a degree of commonality. Growing potatoes the other side of the world isn’t without its challenges. The search for suitable soil types, Potato Cyst Nematode and finding the ultimate crisping variety that suited grower, processor and consumer, high on the agenda both in the UK and over there.
Lunch allowed an opportunity for a lively discussion over the impending rugby World Cup! Somethings don’t change!
